Ireland 2004

Day Seven

This morning we visited Blarney Castle with its magical stone that give the gift of eloquence for a kiss. Then we wandered across the yard to Blarney Woolen mills when Opa and I had some potato soup for lunch. Then we traveled to County Cork to Midleton and the Jameson Distillery and heritage center to learn the story of Irish whiskey. We arrived in the ancient Viking town of Waterford to walk the mile long quay side and I finally fond an internet cafe to check my email, sadly there wasn't very much to be checked.

Kissing The Blarney Stone

I have a photo of Opa kissing the stone as well. You will see in the Blarney Castle slide show that the stairs are really narrow. I didn't think that I would fit the last few feet before the opening to the ceiling where the Blarney Stone is. After kissing the Blarney stone we went to a rock close, which as far as I can tell is a nice garden with rocks. There were some amazing photos in it. I especially like the picture I took of the two trees growing into each other in the shape of a hart.
