Making your computer run faster

A lot of people have problems with their computer running slowly over time. The main reason for this is that as you use the internet programs are installed without you knowing it. Those programs are called spy ware. They are called spy ware because they spy on what you are doing on the internet and then give you pop up advertisements based on the type of web pages you visit. But those programs are always running and they are always talking with their serves so that they slow down your computer and your internet. There are a few free programs that are safe and easy to use that will get those programs off your computer. I would recommend using any or all of these programs.

Spybot Search and destroy - a program that works like an anti virus for spy ware

Adaware - another program similar to Spybot but finds some things Spybot doesn't, also Spybot finds some things that Adaware doesn't.

AVG - A free anti virus that works great and doesn't slow down your computer

What is a Pod cast

It has come to my attention that many people still don't know what a Pod cast is. Well first you have to know a few terms:

iTunes - A media player created by Apple inc. to interface with their popular personal MP3 player the iPod.
iPod - the popular MP3 player created by Apple inc.
RSS - This stands for Really Simple Syndication and is a standardized XML file used to let RSS readers know when there is a new file posted for download.
XML - A New type of mark up language similar to HTML but offers greater customizability.
RSS Reader - a program that looks at an XML file on a web site. that it is told to look at, then downloads any new files posted for download. For example an MP3 file.

Now that we have gotten some of the technical terms out of the way we can talk about what a pod cast is and how people listen to them. A pod cast is similar to a radio show or talk radio for the most part. They are becoming more popular and in many are also available to download in video. The most popular program to use to listen to a pod cast is iTunes. I personally use iTunes and find it extremely easy to find and listen to pod casts using the iTunes music store built into the program. A pod cast is free to listen to and you will almost surely find something that you are interested in. I'm a big tech geek so those are the types of pod casts that I like to listen to, but there are pod casts on sports, news, entertainment, and every topic that you can think of. Some celebrity's even have there own pod casts for their fans.
Some great and funny pod casts that are in video are Ask A Ninja and Tiki Bar. Some good tech pod casts are NPR: Technology, Diggnation, dl.tv, Inside the Net, This Week in Tech, and Security now.

World of Warcraft Trailer

6 million people play World of Warcraft, a massively multi-player online role playing game (MMORPG), and it is considered to be one of the best of its kind on the market. Later this year it will be releasing an expansion pack called "The Burning Crusades". World of Warcraft has released a new trailer for this years E3. If you don't know what E3 is, it is the largest video game convention of the year were all the companies show off everything coming out from the New Sony PS3 and Nintendo Wii to Spore (a new video game from the makers of the Sims). This new trailer is great, you should download it and check out the new stuff in the upcoming expansion.

St. Patty's Day

St. Patty's Day at UD and at the Dear Park Tavern was great. I saw a drag queen show and hung out in an Irish pub. I didn't take any photos of the the drag queen show but I do have a good one from the Dear Park of 3 men they had there playing Traditional Irish music on bagpipes.

Bring Fire Fly Back!

In my opinion, it is one of the best shows ever made.
